Whether we work individually, or I join you and your partner, I will always meet you where you are and provide a safe space for you to grow and heal. In our work together you will always be met with empathy, compassion, and respect. I will utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches to help you overcome the challenges you are facing, create the change that you want, find acceptance and love for yourself, and put you firmly back in the driver’s seat of your life. I can’t wait to begin our work together!

Anxiety
Some amount of anxiety is normal for all of us. But for some, the worry is about lots of different things, and it seems like no matter what we try, we can't stop it. Maybe you can distract yourself for a little bit, but then it's right there again, keeping you up at night, preventing you from being fully present with your family, distracting you from your focus at work, never being able to fully relax because you are too busy waiting for the next "bad thing" to happen or playing the "what if" game in your head. Excessive anxiety can cause feelings of irritability because no one really understands what it's like for you, and for some, it can become debilitating. If this sounds familiar then it's time to get help and that's where I come in!
Depression
For some people, depression look like the stereotypical image of someone staying in bed all day, sleeping or eating too much or not enough, feeling overwhelming sadness and hopelessness, and even suicidal thoughts. And by "some people" I mean A LOT of people! However, depression does not ALWAYS look like this. Some people become angry. Some continue to manage through the tasks of daily living but feel completely empty and lonely inside. Depression looks different for each of us, but if you are feeling an overall dissatisfaction with life, are having difficulty finding joy in areas of your life where you once did, notice changes in your eating and/or sleeping patterns, and find yourself having uncontrollable negative thoughts, maybe it's time to talk to someone. I know just the right person!
Trauma
Trauma can look different for each of us and it can color the lens through which we experience life. We can develop unhealthy coping strategies and find that our unresolved trauma may manifest itself in unexpected or unwanted ways. Often, symptoms associated with trauma can be mistaken for other issues like anxiety, depression, or anger. If you have experienced a deeply disturbing event or events and you are having unwanted, negative symptoms, it may be time to seek help. Let me help you find the peace you deserve.
Borderline Personality Disorder
BPD can be difficult to recognize and understand. People living with BPD often feel misunderstood and discouraged by life. BPD is characterized by an underlying fear of abandonment which drives many unhealthy and unwanted behaviors. Some of the most common symptoms those struggling with BPD experience include impulsive and risky behaviors, unstable relationships, intense mood swings, poor self image, self harm, suicidal thoughts, extreme anger, and loneliness. These symptoms can make it difficult to maintain employment, complete tasks, and maintain healthy relationships. If these symptoms sound familiar book a session today and let me help you develop the skills and strategies you need to create the life you desire. I know you must be exhausted and life doesn't have to be this difficult....
Life Stressors
Everyone experiences stress but sometimes it can become overwhelming and we may need some extra support to manage through it. If you find yourself struggling to stay afloat among all the stress and chaos that life is throwing your way, it may be time to recruit some support. I can help you learn new strategies for accepting, coping, and managing all of life's stressors.
Life Transitions/Role Changes
Life transitions and role changes can be confusing and difficult periods of life where we move from one phase to another, or take on new roles, such as from college student to adult, single to married, becoming a parent, losing a parent, changing careers, retiring, experiencing a divorce or death or a partner, or becoming an "empty-nester." While these role shifts can be exciting, they can also come with confusion about our identify and purpose, and leave us feeling out of control. If you are experiencing a life transition and are having negative or unwanted thoughts or feelings, we can talk about strategies for making the process less stressful and more hopeful for you.
Relationship Issues
There's no such thing as a perfect relationship, but if you find yourself facing frequent conflict with your partner or other significant people in your life, it may be helpful to do some couple's sessions together. Of course it would be unrealistic to expect to never have conflict with our partner or significant others; we're humans with independent thoughts and feelings, and free minds. What is realistic however, is to expect that we can communicate our thoughts and feelings with one another in healthy and respectful ways, with compassion and understanding, recognizing that we do not have to win or even agree. Do you find yourself having the same arguments or frustrations over and over again? That happens when we don't feel heard. Do you find yourself making assumptions or judgements about your partner's intentions and actions? I call these thinking traps and guess what...? They never lead to anything productive! Do you feel disconnected from your partner; more like roommates that lovers? Have you experienced an infidelity or other violation of trust? Let me help you break unhealthy patterns of communication and develop new, healthy strategies for expressing thoughts and feelings, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and understanding, and restoring intimacy into your relationship. Let me assist you in developing a plan to rebuild trust.

Every new day is a new chance to start living the life you want.
